Can I get an AMEN?

However, I have come to realize that I cannot prepare them for everything through exposure. But that’s ok, because I believe the Bible when it says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God* may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2Timothy 3:16-17) That’s right; if I give my children a firm foundation in the word of God, they will be equipped for every work to which God will call them. We need to give our children less World and more Word.

  1. How can Christians read Harry Potter, and then excuse it boldly on the Internet?!?!?

The reason we seem to be loosing the "Culture War" is that we have compromised with the enemy by excusing our own sin. The problem gets even worse when we do it out in the open.

If Christians (the CIA says that 86% of US population profess Christianity) would stop giving junk-books like Harry Fodder and the Hollywood God-haters business in the name of "understanding those poor sinners" (or whatever other excuse is used) those wicked corporations would have been out of business years ago.

    Lord have mercy.

Too much of the time kids in Christian homes are not being raised to think that immorality or witchcraft (etc, etc) is normal, or not so bad. Christians should be far too busy reading wholesome stuff (there is lots out there) to crap like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

  2. The quote, and the article linked to, made a good point - definitely one that needs to be realized. It is nice to hear someone actually think things through in light of what the Scriptures PLAINLY teach, instead of going with the flow of other "evangelicals."
