Life in a large family.....

For those who wonder what it's like to manage the logistics of a 10 person household on a day to day basis, I have found the perfect visual aid.

The following video clip doesn't explain EVERY day...

just the bad ones ...

BTW if you thought we had a big family check out this post by Brother Barry K. from church.

speaking of modesty...

I found this old post on modesty thanks to the guys at the Bird and Babe Public House

They close with a humdinger of a quotation on immodesty by Arthur Pink

"Again, if lustful looking be so grievous a sin, then those who dress and
expose themselves with desires to be looked at and lusted after-as Jezebel, who
painted her face, tired her head, and looked out of the window (2 Kings
9:30
)-are not less, but even more guilty. In this matter it is only too
often the case that men sin, but women tempt them so to do. How great, then,
must be the guilt of the great majority of the modern misses who deliberately
seek to arouse the sexual passions of our young men? And how much greater still
is the guilt of most of their mothers for allowing them to become lascivious
temptresses?"

Reductio ad what?!?

a tip of the hat to Brother Garfield ,who along with his lovely wife Stephnanie brought The Boy ...er...little Perry his first football today ( don't worry Tim the Cowboys jersey will follow soon)

The tip of the hat isn't so much for the football but for some well placed comments on his blog about the recent SBC resolution to abstain from alcohol.

Brother G. says

"So, just to make sure I'm clear. Indoctrination of your children in a
godless institution from sun up till sun down (contra Dt. 6:4-9) where
Christ is
displaced from the center of all things (contra Colossians
1:13-20) is okay. But
for the love of all things teetotalitarian, stay away
from beer!"

This is exactly what has bothered me about the resolution since I first heard about it.

A second tip of the hat to Garfield for pointing out the post Reduction ad Absurdum which aptly illustrates (imnsho) why the logic in the SBC resolution doesn't work.

Remember the abuse of a thing or activity doesn't make it sinful...only God decrees sin and righteousness.

More interesting reading on the SBC's thoughts about alcohol can be found HERE

Here is the picture I've been waiting for
